The way we were - Enigma 1983 The way we are - Enigma re-union 2009 Enigma at Rock City 2012 Promo shot with No More Heroes 2002 Promoting my 3rd album Waves on Derwent FM 2006

In brief then....

I was quarried (my Dads' words) in Leicester in 1964 and started playing the guitar aged 5. At 6 years old I decided I was going to be a professional footballer, a dream which involved a failed trial aged 11 at Mansfield Town, and lasted until I discovered girls, smoking and punk rock at about 13 years old, at which point I returned to playing music.

I played guitar in a few punk and new wave bands in the late 70s and early 80s which never really took off. I joined electro pop band Enigma on guitars and keyboards around 1982 before playing bass in a covers band in the late 80s while simultaneously playing bass in a soul band (marriage up the spout!)

In 1997 I joined No More Heroes, the first of 2 Stranglers tribute bands that I have played in (I joined up on bass with Four More Heroes for a short time in 2004) and we released "Rats, Ravens and Meninblack".

I've always been a prolific song writer (even if most of what I write is not to everyones' taste) and so in 2000 I decided to start recording my efforts and selling them over the internet, details below

Albums to date....

With the advent of downloads, I've withdrawn the CDs from sale and will put them on this site as free downloads. Many thanks to those who purchased the CDs.

My first album, Let Those Without Sin Cast The First Stone was completed in 2001 and is an experimental affair really. Following a domestic err, hic up shall we say, all I was left with was experimental analogue tapes and digtal samples. Positively Cynical was recorded digitally in 2003 and is a far more coherent collection of songs following some advice from former Vibrators ans Stranglers guitarist John Ellis. To promote the album I did a week long, 4 date mammoth tour of the East Midlands and the result is the live album March!. Waves is my favourite set of recordings to date. The CD is a totally digital collection of songs recorded over a two year period in a couple of locations and eventually released in 2006. Rats, Ravens & Meninblack by Stranglers tribute band No More Heroes is one of the few bonifide tribute albums around to anyone - and that's official! Released in 1998, long before CD Writers came along, the album contains 17 tracks spanning 1977 to 1982 and was released with permission of The Stranglers and royalties were paid. Unlike my solo efforts, it's still available on global distribution or from Amazon.

I am currently writing and recording my new album (working title Beyond Ralgex) with a projected release date of January 2013. The album will be available as a free download on here through Fliptophead Records.

It's embarrassing video time! Below is the video for a song called Far Away by Enigma, a band that I was in during the early to mid 80s'. It's 1984 and I'm the one with the bandy legs and moustache! Enjoy.........................
